Eames FSW-6 Screen
An early molded plywood screen divider in calico ash, designed by Charles & Ray Eames and manufactured by Herman Miller. The screen's ingenious design allows it to be formed into a variety of appealing shapes. Cotton canvas hinges provide flexibility, allowing the six panels to extend fully or fold down completely to save space. The natural wood surface features an attractive grain, with a few scant marks that add character. The lacquer finish has been polished with a light touch. The screen is in very good original condition, with minimal chips to the edges and intact webbing. Originally released in 1946 and produced only until 1955, this example dates to the early 1950s.
