Hans Wegner JH-505 Cowhorn Chairs
A matching set of six JH-505 Cowhorn Chairs, designed by Hans J. Wegner for Johannes Hansen. Executed in teak with cane seats, these iconic chairs are distinguished by their elegantly curved arms, which resemble a cow’s horns, giving them their distinctive name. The teak frames, with refined rosewood joinery, have been expertly restored to highlight the wood's natural beauty and warmth. The cane seats offer a light contrast to the rich tones of the teak. Our complete set has quite compelling provenance. The chairs were acquired from the original owner, who had an extraordinary home filled with the finest Wegner pieces. Along with the chairs, we also have the original paperwork. The chairs bear the cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen’s metal plaque.
