Leandre Poisson Ottoman with Handles
Modernist bent ottoman with velvet cushion, designed by architect Leandre Poisson. The ottoman is comprised of a curved plywood base finished with two charming handles. We added a loose round cushion in grass green cotton velvet. This example is one-of-a-kind, acquired alongside a suite of furniture envisioned for his futuristic dome house in New Hampshire. These furnishings embody his passion for innovative materials and embracing sustainability principles. Graduating from RISD in the late 1950s, Poisson honed his industrial design skills at NYC firms, most notably with Raymond Loewy. In the 1960s, the architect made a significant move to New Hampshire, redirecting his focus towards environmental design, which included a pioneering approach to solar architecture and gardening. Furniture signed and dated 1982.
